My wife and I headed out on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy some beautiful summer weather under blue skies along Lake Guntersville. Our little rescue mutt joined us as we didn't want to leave him alone in the house on such a gorgeous day. After a few hours we started feeling a bit hungry right about the time we crossed a section of lake on Hwy 69. At the north end of that drive is a great little bar & grill worth stopping by for a cold beer & grub: Fire By the Lake. When I inquired at the front counter whether dogs are allowed, the receptionist smiled and said, "Of course. We can't have pets inside, but we have plenty of deckspace outside to accommodate them in the fresh air. With our dog happily trotting next to my wife, we quickly found a table with shade and a fine view of the lake. Almost before we could sit down, our thoughtful waitress slid a bowl of clean, fresh water in front of our pet. Needless to say, we felt right at home as the staff went out of their way to put us at ease. Our waitress kept our ice water topped off (it was a warm afternoon) and gave us helpful tips on the menu. My wife loved her shrimp tacos while I enjoyed fried catfish & chips that were perfectly cooked. Our dog was thrilled with his hot dog. The draft beer was deliciously cold and at $5, I was sorry I didn't have more time to spend in this laid back hangout.

If you are thinking about going to eat at Fire By The Lake in Guntersville Al. I would recommend you going they have a verity of different things to eat on there menu and they have very friendly waitresses that are very polite
